1. Chinese government officials in charge of the country's fisheries policy will visit the Republic of Korea from November 11 through 15, led by Zhao Xingwu, Director-General of the Bureau of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture. During the visit, the delegation will learn about the fisheries restructuring policies implemented by the ROK and their outcomes as well as visit the sites in the West Sea where Chinese fishing vessels operate.


2. The upcoming visit will take place as part of efforts to strengthen fisheries cooperation between the two countries in accordance with the ROK-China Joint Statement for Future Vision announced by Presidents Park Geun-hye and Xi Jinping during the former’s state visit to China in June. The visit is expected to serve as an opportunity to further enhance bilateral cooperation and communication with a view to improving the bilateral order in fishing operations.
