The Ministry of Environment (MOE) holds a talk concert titled ‘Youth and Environmental Jobs’ on September 23 at Chungnam National University to communicate with the young, inviting the Vice Minister of Environment and environmental businessmen.
The talk concert is aimed at helping the students majoring in the environment in Chungchung area to land a job by offering the vision of environmental jobs, prospects and job information. At the event, Jeong Yeon-man, Vice Minister of Environment, Kim Jong-il, CEO of TSKwater and Cheon Jeon-yong, CEO of Geogreen 21, are invited as speakers.
The Vice Minister Jeong will give a presentation on the status and prospects of environmental jobs by sector and the types of jobs MOE strives to create. He will introduce promising environmental jobs, so that students can have an opportunity to prepare for employment in advance.
Mr. Kim Jong-il, CEO of TSKwater will talk about the kind of talent companies desire, the characteristics and the future of environmental career and give the students advice as a mentor in the environmental field.
And, Mr. Cheon Jeon-yong CEO of Geogreen 21 will share his personal story about difficulties he faced while running an environmental venture and the vision of environmental ventures, which will be helpful to those who want to be an environmental expert. Vice Minister Jeong will offer one-on-one counseling and give down-to-earth advice to students.
Vice Minister Jeong said that he will keep his ears open to the students’ difficulties in getting a job and seek ways to resolve such challenges together. “By doing so, I will play a bridging role between the youth and the government,” he added.
There will be a recruitment consulting session with 7 companies including Hyundai Motor Company, Hanwha Advanced Materials, KOMIPO, Samsung Display, TSKwater, SK Hynix and Chem.
From the public sector, MOE, Korea Environmental Corporation and Korea Environment Industry & Technology Institute will join the event to give practical support to the students.
