A state-of-the-art digital display system promoting Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea will find its way into Korea’s two major airports by July.
The Organizing Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea signed an official sponsorship agreement with Christie Digital Systems USA on May 22 that allows for the use of Christie’s “MicroTiles,” an innovative modular digital display system. These digital displays will be set up in Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport in July.
With its diverse display technologies and solutions, Christie Digital Systems leads the digital cinema projectors sector of the global digital display system market. Multinationals like AT&T and its Global Network Center, Boeing, and Microsoft all use Christie products for their business presentations and in their control rooms. Christie’s MicroTiles-based digital display fuses digital light processing (DLP) and liquid electronic display (LED) technologies.
“MicroTiles is a fabulous technology that allows one image to be puzzled together with multiple computer monitors—it is magnificent enough to conjure up images of Paik Nam-june’s TV installation work,” said Kim Dong-seong, the director of the Organizing Committee’s Brand Marketing Division.
“Travelers will be exposed to the Yeosu Expo at the airports through the simple yet dazzling and memorable visual images produced through MicroTiles,” Kim added.
Christie Digital Systems was selected as the fifth official sponsor of Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, following the Industrial Bank of Korea, Kwangju Bank, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Company, and Cheil Industries.
