1. Minister for Special Affairs Lee Jae-oh will leave for South Sudan to attend the country’s independence celebrations to be held on July 9 in his capacity as special envoy of President Lee Myung-bak.

° Minister Lee will be accompanied by Representatives Kwon Taek-ki and Chang Je-won of the Grand National Party.

° President Kiir of South Sudan sent a letter of invitation to the celebrations to the Korean President on April 12.

2. Following his visit to South Sudan for the events, Minister Lee will also visit its neighboring countries. His detailed schedule is currently being worked out, and will be announced when finalized.
