- Innovative technologies from 465 digital companies on display

The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) hosts "World IT Show 2023" for three days from April 19th (Wed.) to 21st (Fri.) at COEX in Seoul to showcase the latest information and communication technology products and services. The event is hosted by MSIT with the participation of 465 domestic and foreign companies. This year's theme is "K-Digital Changing the World's Daily Life" as digital technologies are deeply entrenched in our lives by triggering changes in all areas such as economy, society, and culture. It consists of exhibitions to present digital innovation products and services, awards ceremonies for innovative digital companies (2023 ImpaCT-ech Grand Prize Award Ceremony and WIS Innovation Award Ceremony), and a lot of events including the Technology Commercialization Festival and ITRC Talent Development Competition.
As global interest in K-digital has been rising, this year the World IT Show prepared various events to promote Korean digital companies' excellent innovative products and services to the world and support their entry into overseas markets. First, a ‘Tour for Diplomats in Korea’ is held, in order to introduce excellent innovative products to ambassadors and related personnel. 35 diplomats from 24 countries*, including ambassadors from 11 countries are supposed to attend.

'Export Strategy Conference' and 'Global ICT Outlook Conference' are to share overseas expansion procedures, overseas ICT trends, and tips to strengthen the ability of digital companies to go global. The 'Innovative Technology Company Presentation' is a place where the innovative digital companies can demonstrate their products. A special exhibition pavilion (so called “Mingling Zone”) to promote the investments in promising startups. In addition, the 'Excellent Company Award Ceremony*' is prepared to boost the morale of companies that have developed innovative technologies in the ICT field.

Minister Lee Jong-ho emphasized, "Given the trend that digital is becoming part of everyday life with the recent emergence of ChatGPT, the 'World IT Show' is significant platform for people to experience excellent digital innovative products and services that change our daily lives." "The government will continue to provide various policy support so that South Korea can leap to the world's best digital model country and domestic excellent digital companies can lead the global market," he added.
