1. Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan will hold an award ceremony at the Foreign Ministry on September 29 to confer medals to three people in Korea for their contribution to the homecoming of the Oegyujanggak Uigwe.

° The awardees are Lee Tae-jin, Chairman of the National History Compilation Committee; Lee Sung-mi, an emeritus professor at the Academy of Korean Studies; and Rhyou Bok-ryeol, Director for Press Relations and former Counselor at the Korean Embassy in France.

2. With the presentation of the medals, all of the seven people, excluding Dr. Park Byeong-seon, at home and abroad, who contributed to the return of the Oegyujanggak Uigwe, will have been conferred awards. As for Dr. Park, who is currently hospitalized in France, the Ambassador to the country will present her award upon her recovery.

* The conferment ceremony for the three contributors in France -- Jack Lang, a member of the French National Assembly, President Vincent Berger of Paris Diderot University, and the Korean Ambassador to the country -- was held at the Korean Embassy in Paris on September 2 during Minister Kim’s visit.
