The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the German Embassy in Korea jointly held the Korea-Germany Digital Health Tech Forum 2023 on November 22 at the Sofitel Ambassador Hotel Seoul to strengthen Korea-Germany digital health technology exchange and facilitate their networking for international cooperation.
Launched in 2020 to promote exchange in the two countries’ digital health R&D, the Digital Health Tech Forum held this year was attended by representatives and experts of digital health industries, academia, R&D and healthcare institutions, including Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), Osong Medical Innovation Foundation, Korea Digital Health Industry Association and Germany’s Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
Speakers gave keynote speeches under the theme of “Digital Health Innovation and Changes in the Medical Paradigm,” and distinguished digital health researchers of Korea and Germany presented their findings and engaged in technology exchange. Under the theme of “Utilization and Regulations of Digital Health Data,” panel discussion members shared the trends in digital data utilization and regulations, and sought measures for collaboration in data utilization.
The forum will serve as a momentum for spurring technology exchanges between Korea and Germany, and for invigorating international joint R&D projects. MOTIE plans to uncover various global projects to continue to support the development of next-generation healthcare technologies and convergence services based on digital health-related big data, such as health, disease and DNA data.
