SungEel HiTech completes its 3rd Plant (Hydro Center) in Saemangeum
- Circulation of resources through recycling used secondary batteries
Sungil HiTech, specialized in eco-friendly battery recycling,
held the completion ceremony of its 3rd plant (Hydro Center*)
at Saemangeum National Industry Complex, according to
Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency (SDIA,
Administrator Kim Kyung-ahn).
* Hydro Center produces high-purity battery material such as
nickel, cobalt, and lithium through recycling used batteries
Sungil HiTech expects to lead battery recycling business through
recycling used lithium-ion batteries and through mass-producing for
the first time in Korea, investing KRW 130 billion (site:87,990
㎡) in Saemangeum Industrial Complex.
Sungil HiTech said that it would become a global leader in
eco-friendly technology, proceed sustainable battery recycling
technology, and increase its production capacity of recycling
materials, in line with a high-growth electric vehicle market.
Kim Kyung-ahn, Administrator of SDIA, congratulated on
Sungil HiTech, saying, “We hope Sungil HiTech will be a global
leader in secondary battery recycling, especially in the global
carbon zero market.” He also said, “SDIA will support Sungil
HiTech to lead sustainable resource circulation economy in the
global market.”
