- Saemangeum Cheongnyangni, a symbol of hope shining like a golden sun, ‘Manggeum’, attracts the attention of the people

Saemangeum Development Agency (hereinafter referred to as SDIA) Administrator Kim Kyeong-an unveiled its mascot ‘Manggeumi’, symbolizing the positive future of Saemangeum with the golden color of hope.

In order to increase public policy accessibility for Saemangeum’s national industry, which has entered a new phase by revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs, SDIA plans to unveil a new mascot, “Manggeumi,” to increase public support and widely publicize the positive changes in Saemangeum.

‘Manggeum-i’, created through the efforts and will of Saemangeum Agency employees, is expected to radiate bright and positive energy like the golden sun, providing encouragement and support to workers at Saemangeum companies and laughter and memories to tourists visiting Saemangeum.

In particular, as an employee of the new webtoon ‘Mangum Company (tentative name)’, which will be created with the SaemangeumNational Industrial Complex as its background, he is expected to play an active role as a promotional mascot for Saemangeum, sympathizing with the hearts of office workers and informing them of the potential and hidden beauty of Saemangeum.

In addition, we plan to play a role in widely publicizing Saemangeum's key policies and the charm of Saemangeum to the public.

‘Manggeum’ is the character that received the most votes (64%) among Saemangeum Friends* through a vote by SDIA employees.

It is in charge of promoting SDIA and can be seen at various Saemangeum events and in social media.

* Various characters representing Saemangeum, including Mangeum, which means hope, beaver, sprout, and seaweed, are expected to play a big role in promoting Saemangeum in the future.

Kim Kyung-an, the head of SDIA said, “I hope that ‘Manggeumi’ will become a friendly and attractive messenger that promotes Saemangeum and become a driving force for promoting the local economy and industrial development,” and added, “We will start promoting the Saemangeum national project tailored to the public and businesses through social media and other means, and strive to approach everyone who visits Saemangeum in a friendly manner.”
