- Celebrating the World Health Day on 7 April, KDCA released the first Disease Prevention and Control Week for “Healthier Lives with KDCA”, explaining the KDCA's public health policies to the people.
- KDCA held various events from 7 April to 11 April with the public and experts on “Healthier Lives with KDCA”.



Osong, 15 April 2025 ━ The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) held the first Disease Prevention and Control Week for “Healthier Lives with KDCA” (07 April - 11 April 2025), celebrating the World Health Day on 7 April.

The “Week for Healthier Lives with KDCA”, held by KDCA for the first time this year, is an weekly event, introducing KDCA’s public health policies to promote 'Towards a safer and healthier future'. This event is held under the topics below:
- Introducing disease prevention and management policies to the public.
- Discussing future challenges of managing the disease, including the aging and the climate change with experts.
- Promoting the universal health of the public .

The “Week for Healthier Lives with KDCA” is held for a week, starting from 7 April, the World Health Day.

① (Sex/gender-specific Medicine) Healthy Lives with KDCA with the Public: Healthy Society Forum
On 8 April, KDCA hosted the “Healthy Society Forum,” one of the KDCA core forums, discussing public health polices with experts on “Sex/gender-specific disease research.”

② (Using Big Data) The Current Trend and Achievements in Disease Response Using Big Data: Open House
On 9 April, KDCA held the Open House with 15 undergraduate and graduate students majoring in relevant fields—healthcare and data, and statistics—under the topic of “the current trend and achievements in pandemic and disease response using big data.”

③ (Child Health) Prevention on Allergic Diseases, including Atopic Dermatitis: The Commissioner’s Visit
On 10 April, KDCA commissioner personally visited the daycare center to provide education session regarding the child allergic disease (atopic dermatitis and food allergy) prevention and management.

④ (Elderly Health) We Can Overcome Parkinson’s Disease Together: The World Parkinson’s Day Commemoration Event
On 10 April, marking the World Parkinson’s day, KDCA held the commemoration event at the Omnibus Park of Catholic University of Korea with Korean Movement Disorder Society (KMDS).

⑤ (Climate Health) Healthy Lives with KDCA around the World: Policy Forum
On 11 April, KDCA held the policy forum on “public health response and preparedness on the extreme weather events(climate disaster)” with experts at the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI).

KDCA commissioner Dr. Youngmee Jee said, “I look forward to the “Week for Disease Prevention and Control with KDCA, an important opportunity to share and discuss public health policies from the perspective of the people fostering greater understanding and collective progress forward healthier lives for all.”
