- MOF to recruit 18 teams (36 people) for the Coastal Cruise Experience...Accepting applications starting May 16

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF; Minister Kang Do-hyung) announced that it would be accepting applications for participation in the Coastal Cruise Experience Group from 11:00 on Friday, May 16 to 17:00 on Friday, May 23.

Having been promoting the popularization of cruise travel by organizing cruise experience groups since 2016, MOF plans to introduce a new coastal cruise experience group starting this year. As cruise travel has mainly featured international routes, the coastal cruise experience group is expected to increase the accessibility of cruises to the public and provide an opportunity to experience Korea’s coastal regions in a new way.

This experience group will board the 22,000-ton cruise ship PanStar Miracle in Busan on Thursday, June 19 and experience a 3-night, 4-day cruise trip that includes touring Yeosu and Jeju and returning to Busan on Sunday, June 22.

The experience group—18 teams or 36 people—will be randomly selected by room type and supported with more than 50% of the expenses, as a result of which they will be responsible for between KRW 400,000 and KRW 700,000 per head.

Citizens who wish to apply for the experience group should visit the MOF website (www.mof.go.kr) between 11:00 on Friday, May 16 and 17:00 on Friday, May 23 to check the guidelines and then submit their name, birthdate, contact information, and preferred room type for the applicant and a companion. For further application process details, inquire with the organizing agency (☎+82-70-4112-6295).

The selection results will be announced via the MOF website (www.mof.go.kr) on Thursday, May 29 (Thu.) at 17:00, Facebook (www.facebook.com/mofkor), and blog (blog.naver.com/koreamof). Selected applicants will be notified individually.
