Osong, 17 July 2025 ━ The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) held plaque unveiling ceremony to celebrate its designation as the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for NCD Surveillance and Bigdata Utilization on June 12.
* Operating period: May 2025 – April 2029 (Can be extended)
A WHO Collaborating Center is a specialized institution by sectors that the WHO designates to implement international health initiatives.
This is the first WHO Collaborating Center designation in the field of NCD surveillance for Korea. With this designation, KDCA now operates three WHO Collaborating Centers, including:
* (March 2021) WHO Collaborating Center for Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and One Health Research
* (September 2024) WHO Collaborating Center for Pandemic Preparedness and Response
