National Palace Museum of Korea to Temporarily Close 

for better viewing environment (July 8 – 27)


- Partial closure (2nd floor) from July 8 to July 20;

full closure from July 21 to July 27


The National Palace Museum of Korea, under the Korea Heritage Service and directed by Jeong Yong-jae, will be temporarily closed from July 8 to July 27 for renovation work on the museum’s entrance and lobby areas.

From July 8 to 20, only the exhibition spaces on the second floor will be closed. Other exhibition areas will remain open to public as usual. During this period, visitors may enter through the Museum Cafe entrance on the first floor, as the main entrance will be closed.
From July 21 to July 27, The entire museum will be completely closed, with all floors and facilities inaccessible to the public.

This renovation aims to enhance the overall visitor experience by upgrading outdated facilities in the lobby space and improving informational services and viewing convenience.
