Team Korea House at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games opened in the Gangneung Olympic Park in Gangneung, Gangwon-do Province, on Feb. 8.
The first floor of the exhibit hall is used as a promotional area for Korean arts, heritage and tourism. There's a multipurpose hall that can be used as a stage for performances, and a press conference room. The second and third floors have a conditioning room, a video analysis room and lounges for Korean Olympic athletes. It will be open during the Olympic Games from Feb. 8 to 25 and again during the Paralympic Games from March 9 to 18.
At the hall's opening ceremony on Feb. 8, Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Roh Tae-kang, President Lee Kee-Heung of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, Gangneung's Mayor Choi MyeongHee and other Team Korea officials were all in attendance.
“Team Korea House is a very important place, as it's the stronghold that supports our Korean athletes to help them achieve better performances, and it's also a promotional hall for Korean arts, heritage and tourism,” said Vice Minister Roh. “I hope that Team Korea and our officials will be able to make use of the house.”
