Senior Secretary to the President for Public Communication Yoon Young-chan Briefs Media on Morning Session of Inter-Korean Summit

President Moon Jae-in and Chairman of the State Affairs Kim Jong Un held a summit for approximately 100 minutes from 10:15 to 11:55 this morning.

Throughout the session, the two leaders had sincere and candid dialogue about the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, the establishment of enduring peace, and the direction in which inter-Korean relations should develop.

The two sides agreed to continue having working-level consultations on a joint statement. If they come up with a statement, the two leaders will attend a signing ceremony and announce it together.

Ri Sol-ju, Chairman Kim’s wife, will arrive at Panmunjeom at around 6: 15 pm. President Moon Jae-in, First Lady Kim Jung-sook, Chairman Kim Jong Un and his wife will meet for a short while at Peace House and then proceed to the dinner banquet.
