Director of Cheong Wa Dae Press Center Kwun Hyuk-ki Briefs the Media on 3rd Working-level Meeting for the Inter-Korean Summit

The South and the North held the third round of working-level meetings on protocol, security and media coverage for the April 27 inter-Korean summit at Peace House and reached a final agreement today.

The two sides agreed on the main itinerary of the inter-Korean summit, starting from the historic first meeting between the two leaders in the morning on April 27, which will be followed by an official welcoming ceremony, summit talks and a welcoming dinner.

The two sides agreed to finalize the lists of delegates to attend the summit and officials accompanying them as early as possible and notify each another.

The North will send an advance team to the southern side of Panmunjeom on April 25. The South guaranteed all conveniences and support needed for the advance team and delegation from the North.

At the 2nd working-level meeting, it was decided that major events for the summit on the South Korean side of Panmunjeom would be broadcast live. During the 3rd working-level meeting today, the two sides reached a surprise agreement to allow newsgathering activities by South Korean journalists, including live streaming of the movement of officials, starting from Panmungak on the northern side.

The two sides agreed to deal with other practical matters through consultations in accordance with the principle of mutual respect and cooperation. Today's agreement has been signed by chief representative Kim Sang-gyun of the South and chief representative Kim Chang Son of the North.

From now on, you will be briefed about all important events on the schedule for the preparation of the summit.

On April 24, the South Korean side will carry out a rehearsal at Panmunjeom. The next day, a South-North joint rehearsal participated by the North Korean advance team led by chief representative Kim Chang Son will take place at Panmunjeom. On the eve of the summit, April 26, a final rehearsal participated in by six South Korean official delegates who will accompany President Moon Jae-in during the summit will be conducted as part of the last check-up.

A detailed schedule and information about the summit agreed to today will be announced by Chairman of the Inter-Korean Summit Preparation Committee Im Jong-seok at the Press Center in KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do Province on April 26.
