Kiwi is one of the most popular fruits, with a harmonized taste that combines both sweetness and sourness. The fruit contains various nutrients as well, such as vitamin C, calcium, potassium, folate and a lot of fiber. As one kiwi contains twice as much vitamin C as an orange, a kiwi a day is enough to meet the recommended daily intake of vitamin C. Its natural digestive functions also prevent constipation and help with weight loss. It is also good for the skin and boosts the immune system.
The benefits of the kiwi can now be enjoyed through a glass of wine. This is Darae Wine made by Oreumjooga Winery, which allows people to enjoy the taste and fragrance of the kiwi with the relaxation found in a glass of wine.
A bottle of Darae Wine is made from kiwis. It offers the unique taste and smell of the kiwi, after waiting 10 months to mature.
Darae Wine is made from kiwis (
chamdarae in Korean) grown in an environmentally friendly manner from farms in Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do (South Gyeongsang Province). As kiwis are consumed after ripening, a bottle of Darae Wine is made after going through a 10-month maturation process. A glass of this wine will allow people to appreciate a well-balanced sweet and refreshing taste, accompanied by the unique smell of kiwi, due to its organic acids: quinic acid, malic acid and citric acid.
Thanks to the mild and soft taste, it goes well with a variety of menu items, both seafood and meat, such as barbecue or sashimi. When used alongside a meat dish, it makes the meat much tenderer. It is recommended that it's stored at a low temperature, below 10 Celsius, to enjoy a deeper flavor.
Based on its sweetness, Darae Wine has three varieties, including dry and sweet regular. Last November, the Sweet Regular won top prize in the fruit-based beverage category at the Korean Liquor Contest 2014, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs.
