Representatives from the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation announce the new brand NH Farm, an umbrella brand that will cover many of the cooperative's agricultural exports, on July 13 in Seoul.

A new brand that symbolizes the quality and safety of Korean agricultural produce was made public on July 13.

The new brand "NH Farm" was launched by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) during a ceremony with more than 200 representatives in attendance from major countries to which Korean agricultural produce is exported, including Thailand, Iran and China.

Participants in the ceremony included Vice Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Lee Jun-won, NACF Chairman Kim Byeong-won, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Pham Huu Chi, Thai Ambassador to Korea Sarun Charoensuwan and Iranian Ambassador to Korea Hassan Taherian.

The “NH” in the brand is short for “Natural & Healthy,” and represents the reliable quality and untainted nutrients found in Korean agricultural products. The “Farm” in the name represents the producer who delivers safe and fresh products from wherever they were harvested to the consumer's table.

“With this new brand, more consumers from around the world will be able to learn about our high-quality products. We will turn the brand into a global symbol of the freshness of Korean agricultural goods,” said NACF Chairman Kim Byeong-won.

The many kinds of primary and secondary products, both processed and unprocessed, that are exported by the NACF undergo a strict quality control procedure before being able to get the NH Farm stamp. The NACF will work to raise global awareness of the brand, in collaboration with experts in the importing countries, and then establish a corporate body in each region to handle the brand, according to market demand.

During the ceremony, the NACF signed a series of MOUs with partners from its major importing countries, including Iran, the U.S., China and Japan, to further revitalize exports. Iranian Ambassador to Korea Hassan Taherian and representatives from Iranian businesses were invited to attend the ceremony, too, as part of follow-up efforts to expand mutual cooperation between Seoul and Tehran after President Park Geun-hye’s visit to Iran in May.
