The global food industry trade fair Seoul Food 2017 opened its doors at the KINTEX convention center in Ilsan, Goyang-si, in Gyeonggi-do Province, on May 16.
This year marks the trade fair's 35th annual exhibition.
At the show, some 1,382 food and kitchenware companies from 39 nations, including France, Belgium, Argentina, Chile and India, will be promoting their products. Also, chefs from famous restaurants and students from culinary schools in Korea will compete in a special cooking competition, the Culinary Challenge.
“The exhibition provides an ideal business platform for food companies from around the world and a great opportunity for them to find a good partner,” said Kim Jaehong, president and CEO of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). “We will expand the infrastructure at the exhibition to help participating companies develop their competitiveness through various programs, and help them accomplish their goals here.”
