Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon celebrated the third anniversary of the "Day of Medium-sized Business Leaders" (중견기업인의 날) and stressed the desire of the new government to foster small and medium-sized enterprises, in Seoul on July 21.
The prime minister emphasized the desire of the government to promote small and medium-sized businesses, mentioning some of the plans the new government has, such as building 30,000 smart factories, establishing a business ecosystem that can help with the development of medium-sized companies, and creating a balanced economic structure to foster the successful coexistence and cooperation of small, medium and large businesses.
“Innovation is the key to attaining a yearly per capita GDP of over USD 40,000 and to buying and selling over USD 2 trillion worth of goods per year,” said the prime minister as he asked the business executives present to be true leaders and to play leading roles in the development of such movements.
Some 180 business gurus, including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon, First Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Lee Inho and Administrator Joo Young-sup from the Small and Medium Business Administration, attended the ceremony to celebrate the third anniversary of the "Day of Medium-sized Business Leaders."
