LG Electronics and Kia Motors have been recognized for their product designs at this year’s Red Dot Awards, one of the top three international design awards.
LG’s premium built-in Signature Kitchen Suite Pro Range oven and its ultra-HD CineBeam Laser 4K projector each received a Best of the Best award.
The oven was recognized for such details as its over-all ergonomic design, its easy operation and its user-friendly handle. The projector, unlike other projectors, has a rectangular shape with a grip, which makes it easier to carry, they said. The judging committee of the design award also pointed out its balance between esthetics and convenience.
Kia Motors’ sport sedan Stinger also won a Best of the Best award. The car previously received an iF Design Award, too, another one of the world’s top design awards, in February.
Red Dot Awards are considered one of the top three design awards in the world, alongside the iF Design Awards and the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). This year, some 6,300 designs from 59 countries registered for the award. Only 69 designs, 1.1 percent of the total number of entrants, were awarded a Best of the Best award. Following the Best of the Best rewards are Red Dots and Honourable Mentions.
