This year's Korea Together Sale, a massive discount event held nationwide, will run from June 24 to July 11.
Now in its second year, the sale seeks to boost domestic consumption depressed by the COVID-19 pandemic and pioneer markets for small and medium businesses and entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups on June 24 said this year's event includes non-contact and online distribution platforms: 28 online shopping malls, 12 TV home shopping channels and T-commerce companies, 10 live commerce companies and delivery apps.
An online exhibition featuring 27 shopping malls including Gmarket, 11 Street and Coupang will offer discounts of up to 70% on leading products from smaller businesses and entrepreneurs. The public platform Gachi Sapshida (Let’s Buy Together) will have nearly 200 products at up to half off.
In addition to traditional markets and small businesses, the event will include large-scale distributors including major department stores and supermarkets.
The department stores will offer discounts of up to 50% with exclusive events for products made by small and medium businesses and discounts for summer fashion items from last year or earlier.
Large hypermarkets will hold discounts of up to 50% off on popular food products and 40% for agricultural, livestock and fisheries items. Sales outlets will offer fashion brand events offering up to 50% off.
More details are available on the sale's official website, www.ksale.org, in Korean.
