Exports of information and communications technology (ICT) last month rose 14.8% from November last year to USD 20.5 billion.

Driven by semiconductors, computers and peripherals, such overseas shipments rose for the 13th consecutive month year on year.

Cumulative exports in the year's first 11 months also rose 26.1% to USD 212.4 billion.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on Dec. 15 announced this data in a report on November ICT trade trends. The tentative findings were a trade surplus of USD 8.06 billion thanks to exports of USD 20.5 billion and imports of USD 12.44 billion.

Such exports also exceeded USD 20 billion for the fourth month in a row.

The best ICT export performers were semiconductors and computers. Memory chips saw their performance jump by USD 7.96 billion and system semiconductors USD 3.96 billion, while overseas shipments of PCs and peripherals jumped 98.6%.
