"This concert was organized to help the homeless in our society become economically self-reliant and to give a helping hand to refugees around the world," said the Philanthropists. "This is also to raise funds and to change social attitudes aimed toward the homeless and refugees."
"Most of all, all the proceeds from this concert will be donated through UNICEF to be used to provide clean water for Syrian refugees," it added.
Artists including MC Meta, a member of the duo Garion, Jjari Mongttang, a female trio, Lim Sunyoung, the duo Dongne Ppangjip, and Jindotgae, a male solo, have all volunteered to perform at the concert.
"The world has many neighbors who live an unequal life due to poverty and a lack of means," said the Philanthropists. "We are looking for 'celanthropists' who will volunteer their time and abilities to participate in this concert."
A "celanthropist" is a "celebrity philanthropist," an artist who uses his or her fame and talents for charitable purposes.
The Philanthropists, founded in 2009, comprises of 40 young adults in their 20s living in six countries. They have so far hosted two charity concerts and two conferences, raising over KRW 16 million, all of which they donated to philanthropic purposes. Concert tickets can be purchased online or on site.
