Spanish readers recently had a chance to learn more about Korean literature by talking face-to-face with two Korean authors.

Gong Ji-young, a novelist, and Moon Chung-hee, a poet, met with Spanish readers and media outlets in Madrid on April 22 and 23 during the Night of Books (La noche de los libros), a global book fair held across the city.

The Korean authors discussed their works with Spanish readers at a Korean literature event and talked on the theme of "Women, Life and Love" at the Korean Cultural Center in Madrid on April 22. Gong spoke about one of her major works, "Our Happy Times," while Moon talked about "I am Moon," a poetry collection containing her life story. Gong's work was published in 2012 while the poetry book was published in 2014.

Madrid readers asked the two authors about their views on women and life and how Korean readers access literature. The event was recorded and was later aired during the "Planet of the Books" (Planeta de los libros) program on Circulo de Bellas Artes, a Spanish radio station.
