Italian daily Corriere Della Sera, which also has a pavilion at the expo, reported on May 14 that the Korean restaurant at the national pavilion is gaining as much popularity as McDonald's does in its prime. "Non-Korean visitors don't mind waiting in line for over 30 minutes to taste kimchi, a traditional Korean dish made from fermented cabbage. Is it worthwhile?" it said, adding that the answer is yes.

The May 9 edition of the daily Il Giornale said that the Korean Pavilion is one of the most outstanding national pavilions at the expo. Regarding the pavilion's exhibitions, it described them as, "intrinsic and perfect." It added that the pavilion offers one of the most delicious menus at the expo.

On May 11, the daily La Repubblica reported on the, "impressive," hologram that talks about hunger and overweight. The business daily Italia Oggi said that it brings together in harmony elements of both the arts and technology. Rai 2, a public television program, also gave the Korean Pavilion a positive review, on May 7. It said that the pavilion presents a shocking yet interesting metaphor through media about the world's food crisis. The May 16 edition of daily Libero published an article under the headline, "Korean and Omani foods are the two must-eats." It says that the Korean restaurant was clean, the food was well-served and the staff was friendly.

Expogram, the official social network service of the expo organizing committee, selected, "Message from the Korean Pavilion," as one of its top ten must-experience programs at the expo, along with the Mirror Room at the Italian Pavilion.

The Korean Pavilion helps raise awareness of problems we face today, such as overweight, hunger, the mass production of instant food and a depletion of food resources. Also, through pottery-themed media art, it delivers a message of harmony, emphasizing fermentation and storage. The Korean restaurant prepares food that focuses on each message, serving traditional dishes such as bibimbap, braised short ribs (galbijjim) and stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables (japchae).

Since opening on May 1, the number of visitors to the Korean Pavilion has exceeded 200,000.
