The Korean Pavilion at the World Exposition Milano 2015 hosted its Korea Night on June 1. Some 80 people from a diverse range of culinary backgrounds visited the pavilion to dine on Korean cuisine. There were chefs from Italy, Austria and countries from around the world and people working in the culture, arts and media sectors. They shared the Korean food that was on offer at the pavilion and particularly enjoyed the special dishes prepared by Chef Kim Sohyi.

Kim is known for her fusion cuisine restaurant in Vienna and for being cast in "Master Chef Korea," a TV cooking competition. The highlight of the night was kimchi in a cold broth (mulkimchi) specially prepared for the event by Kim herself. Along with the special dish, an assortment of vegetables mixed with rice, bibimbap, and stir-fried glass noodles and vegetables (japchae) were also served, all winning great favor with the guests.

Across the Italian press, the Korean Pavilion and its restaurant is receiving great reviews.

Maria Luisa Agnese in the daily Corriere Della Sera said on May 27 on the radio show La ventisettesima ora that the Korean Pavilion has turned out to be one of the best pavilions at the expo, according to a survey by expo-goers. She also said that the pavilion delivers a clear, refined message through its food. Earlier on May 14, the newspaper also praised the pavilion and said it was a venue for which it was worth waiting in line for 30 minutes.
