The Korean Embassy in Singapore hosted a special contest to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and Singapore on June 24.
SGKpopcon invited fans of Korean dance and pop music to show off their polished and well-rehearsed singing and dancing abilities. The event aimed at singling out one winning team in each of three categories: singing, performance and cover dance.
The winners in the singing and performance categories will be given the chance to compete with other rivals from around the world and advance to the finals. The K-pop World Festival 2015 is slated to take place in October in Korea.
The Singapore contest featured a total of 13 teams that passed the preliminary rounds, beating out 60 other rivals. The teams performed amidst cheers from about 600 viewers.

The winning team in the cover dance category, STARREseconds, wins a free trip to Korea.
