Frankfurters will have the chance to enjoy some Korean cuisine and traditional music at two separate upcoming festivals.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Frankfurt will host a Korea Pavilion during the Museum Embankment Festival, an annual party that runs from Aug. 28 to 30 at 23 museum booths situated along the Main River.
A set of booths will present a range of Korean menu items, including bibimbap, a dish of assorted vegetables and rice, marinated galbi beef ribs and kimchi, allowing visitors to sample some of the dishes.
There will be pop music performances, and a new version of the “Arirang” folk song will be presented, too, with the addition of jazz beats.
Separately, Frankfurt will resonate with traditional Korean tunes with a modern touch. The third Korean Music Festival in Germany will feature both Korean and German musicians on the stage on Sept. 4 and 5 at the Frankfurt Opera House.
The Sept. 4 show will present a type of fusion music between traditional gugak tunes and more modern music, under the title of “When Korea’s Traditional Music Meets With Modern Music.” On Sept. 5, Korean musicians who have worked in Germany for many years will collaborate with their German counterparts.
