Korean dance has made its debut on the stage at the Festival International Cervantino in Guanajuato, Mexico. The Choe Contemporary Dance Company, the Bereishit Dance Company and Art Project Bora have all attended the yearly festival there and have shown off the dynamics of modern Korean dance. The festival runs from Oct. 7 to 25.

The Choe Contemporary Dance Company performs its work 'Argument' at the Festival International Cervantino this year in Mexico.



A special performance on modern Korean dance was held at both the Teatro Cervantes and the Teatro Principal at the festival. The Choe Contemporary Dance Company performed "Argument" and "A Cry." "Argument" expresses the effort to recover from anxiety through gesture and movement.

The Bereishit Dance Company performs its work 'Balance and Imbalance.'



The Bereishit Dance Company performed its "Balance and Imbalance," a combination of dance and traditional Korean music. "Balance and Imbalance" has received a lot of attention already in England, Spain, Germany, China, Mexico and the U.S. ever since its premiere. Finally, Art Project Bora appeared on stage with its "A Long Talk to Oneself" and "Tail Language."

The twin themes at the festival this year are “Fusion of Science and Art” and “Transferal.” The festival features a wide range of genres including plays, music, dance, visual arts, film and other exhibitions
