An evening in Warsaw has been made brighter with Korean art, writing, clothes and other traditions.

This is thanks to Korean Cultural Night, hosted by the Korean Cultural Center Warsaw, which drew more than 1,600 people on May 14.

Fans of all things Korean were able to try on traditional Hanbok clothes and print some traditional paintings. Some even learned calligraphy and wrote their names with seals in Hangeul. Visitors to the cultural center also enjoyed handicraft lessons where they made their own fans and created traditional norigae ornamental decorations, forging unforgettable memories.

Participants listened carefully and even took notes during a special lecture on Korean history, arts and traditions by Ambassador to Poland Hong Ji-in, quenching their thirst for Korean culture. One participant, J. Neugebauer, said with a smile, “Thanks to this evening's program, I've been able to learn more about Korea and truly feel its many charms.”

The evening of festivities has helped the Korean Cultural Center Warsaw to witness first-hand the strong interest in and love for Korea and its traditions that exists among the Polish people. The center plans to hold more such events in the future, including a Korean Cultural Night, so that they can help improve cross-cultural communication between Korea and Poland.
