The TV variety show "Infinite Challenge," which has been the most popular TV show in Korea for 13 years, finally came to an end on March 31.
The TV show grew in popularity as the cast carried out infinite challenges -- as the name suggests -- with Korean and international stars from the entertainment industry and sports.
The six main cast members have attracted a lot of attention from international media and fans through their hilarious match-ups with international athletes, including a one-on-six mixed martial arts match and a water balloon fight with Russian heavyweight mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko, a two-on-five basketball match against Stephen and Seth Curry, and a one-on-six soccer match with French star Thierry Henry.
Jack Black, a king of musical comedy, appeared twice on the show, in January 2016 and on an episode filmed in Los Angeles in August 2017. His sense of humor didn't disappoint, as he rocked all kinds of bizarre games, such as the K-pop quiz. He had to listen to a K-pop song through headphones and sing along with it, and the cast had to guess the song. He also had to blow out a candle with a stocking over his head.
After his first guest appearance, Jack Black said on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that, “'Infinite Challenge' was a shocking and hilarious experience. Koreans sure know how to have fun.”
Basketball stars Stephen (fourth from left) and Seth Curry (fifth from left) appear on 'Infinite Challenge' and play 2-on-5 basketball against the cast on Aug. 5, 2017.
Other international stars have also appeared on "Infinite Challenge," including TV personality Paris Hilton, tennis player Maria Sharapova, golfer Michelle Wie and boxer Manny Pacquiao, who visited Korea earlier this year.
Kwon Suk, director of MBC Entertainment, said, "Our 'Infinite Challenge' is now over, but we are planning a new edition. At the moment, we’re not sure if it will be similar or something completely different."
