Starting May 9, the first floor of the Cheong Wa Dae Sarangchae exhibition hall will house some of the statehouse's famous art collection.

At the exhibit, visitors can see pieces like "Tongyeong Port," a huge painting of the southern port city that usually hangs in the Inwang Hall of the Main Office Building.

Paintings of the four seasons that decorate the banquet hall of the state guest house will also on display.

Especially popular is a photograph of the "Hunminjeongeum," the text from the 1440s that introduced the Hangeul alphabet. It's the same artwork that hung behind President Moon Jae-in and Chairman Kim Jong Un at the Panmunjeom Peace House during their historic meeting on April 27.

According to Cheong Wa Dae, this photo was added to the exhibition at the suggestion of President Moon, who thought that sharing the artwork would give people hope for the start of a new and peaceful era.

The exhibition will continue until July 29, and is open to all visitors, free of charge.
