The Ven. Daehae, also known as Yoo Younguee, received three awards for her Christian film “Sermon on the Mount" (2017) at Russia’s Cheboksary International Film Festival on May 25.

According to the movie distribution agency on May 30, the movie has received three awards at the Cheboksary International Film Festival: Best Director Award, Special Award for Corporate Sponsorship, and Best Executive Award.

Cheboksary is in western Russia on the Volga River, and its 11th international film festival was held this year. “Sermon on the Mount" (2017), which has grabbed attention with its description as being “a Christian film made by a Buddhist nun,” shows how eight young Christians gather in a cave and seek the truth about Jesus.

Regarding the background on why the movie was made, the Ven. Daehae said, “I wanted to contribute to religious harmony. I hope that this movie can be a starting point to create a world of communication and harmony.”
