Nodeul Island on Dec. 21 opened its first official ice rink, reemerging as a place to skate after 50 years.

An artificial island located in the center of the Hangang River, Nodeul until the 1960s was one of the most popular spots in Seoul for ice skating when the river froze over.

The island's first official ice rink will run through Feb. 16, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.

A DJ booth that accepts song requests, food trucks and a rest area with drinks and snacks are also available on the island.
