The K-pop sensation BTS has released its latest single "Dynamite."
The song was released on Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. Korean Standard Time (KST) six months after the debut of the group's fourth regular album "Map of the Soul: 7."
With a bright and light disco pop sound, "Dynamite" is the first BTS song in English. The group said it hopes to lift everyone struggling during COVID-19 through the single.
Unlike the boy band's last album that told true stories of its members involving hurt and fear, the new one conveys a message of happiness and confidence in stressing the uniqueness and importance of life.
The group made an unconventional decision to drop "Dynamite" at 1 p.m. KST while most tracks in Korea are released at 6 p.m. BTS seems to have considered the North American market in its timing since 1 p.m. KST is midnight on the continent's eastern coast.
The group will perform its new song on Aug. 30 for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
