Global music sensation BTS has become the first K-pop artist to earn a Grammy nomination.

The U.S. Recording Academy on Nov. 24 announced the group's nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for its hit "Dynamite." This also made BTS the first K-pop artist to earn nominations from all three major U.S. music awards -- the American Music Awards (AMAs), Billboard Music Awards (BMAs) and the Grammys.

BTS has won AMAs for three straight years and BMAs for four consecutive years.

After news of its nomination broke, the group said, "With the nomination, we hope to win and look forward to it."

On its official Twitter account, BTS wrote, "Thank you all for listening to our music and empathizing amid these hard times," adding, "Above all, ARMY has achieved the miracle of us becoming a Grammy-nominated artist."

The Associated Press said, "BTS earned their first Grammy nomination this year with 'Dynamite,'" adding, "(The K-pop king) said their dream is to be Grammy-nominated and they have finally achieved it."

Reuters added, "South Korean boy band BTS on Tuesday snagged the first ever Grammy nomination for a K-pop band, taking the worldwide sensation a step closer to winning the music award."

The 63rd Grammy Awards will be held online on Jan. 31.
