BTS has set another mark on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart of the U.S. by maintaining the top spot for the sixth consecutive week.

Billboard on July 6 said its hit "Butter" spent its sixth week at No. 1 since its release on June 5.

The song is the group's 11th No. 1 on the chart, and BTS is the first act in the 21st century to top the chart for six straight weeks.

Fifty-four songs have debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the first week of their release, but fewer than 10 including "Butter" have stayed at the top for six weeks straight.

Billboard said "Butter" drew 11 million U.S. streams and sold 153,600 downloads in the week ending on July 1. On this week's chart, sales of "Butter" on vinyl and cassette were counted for the first time.

The hit also attracted 28.3 million radio listeners in the week ending July 4.

BTS tweeted on its official account, "We are making history together with #BTS_Butter. Huge thanks to #BTSARMY. We purple you." "I purple you" is an expression created by the group meaning "I love you" for its fan club Army.
