Her performance in the film "Minari" landed Youn the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at this year's Academy Awards. She also earned honors from elsewhere in the world, including one from this year's British Academy Film Awards.
In his introduction about her, co-star Steven Yeun, who played her son in the film, said, "The first time I ever met her, I was so drawn in by her presence," adding, "I've rarely met people with her level of confidence—it feels like a confidence born from a deep sense of self."
"From navigating and breaking through societal expectations to playing fully realized (and deeply human) characters on the screen, she has forged a path that only she could have."
He also called Youn "a genuine person" who "isn't afraid to tell the truth, and who does so with a care and grace that connects with everyone."
Yeun also made the list, and was joined by global figures such as U.S. President Joe Biden, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and British Prince Harry and his wife Meghan.
