The Korean-created video "Baby Shark" in a world first has attracted 10 billion views on YouTube.

The children's education brand Pinkfong, the creator of the video, on Jan. 13 said that the figure of 10 billion views was reached that day at 4 p.m. Korean Standard Time.

Debuting in June 2016, the video shows children dancing to an English-language version of the song "Baby Shark."

The nursery song amazingly reached the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and became an anthem of fans of the Washington Nationals of the U.S. Major League Baseball sung at the stadium.

In November 2020, the video became the world's most watched on YouTube with 7.04 billion cumulative views. People in around 240 countries have watched it in 20 languages.

The video also has 2.3 billion more views than No. 2, the music video of Luis Fonsi's hit "Despacito."

Pinkfong said the number of views of the video easily exceeded the world population of 7.8 billion according to the United Nations Population Fund, meaning it has been watched at least once by everyone on the planet.
