The movie "Carter" and the original Netflix series "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" have topped the global streaming site's top 10 charts for content not in English.
Netflix Top 10, the official website for ranking viewership of the site's content weekly, on Aug. 10 said the film saw 27.3 million viewing hours and the K-drama 67.01 million in the first week of this month (Aug. 1-7).
Released on June 29, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" has spent four weeks at the chart's summit. Reaching the peak in the second week of last month (July 4-10), the drama ranked No. 2 in the fourth week (July 11-17) and No. 1 in the remaining four weeks since its debut.
"Carter," released on Aug. 5, reached No. 1 within its first three days, besting the seven-day results of other movies. The film was No. 3 on the overall film chart after "Purple Heart" (125.9 million viewing hours) and "The Gray Man" (38.9 million).
"Carter" ranks among the top 10 in 90 countries including the U.S. and Japan.
On the non-English movie chart, "Don't Blame Karma!" from Mexico finished second with 12.31 million viewing hours and "Recurrence" from Argentina third with 11.37 million.
Among dramas not in English, the first season of "Another Self" (Turkey) was second with 31.2 million viewing hours and the second season of Colombia's "Pasion de Gavilanes" third with 29.73 million.
"Carter" is an action film about an amnesiac man on a mysterious mission who must rediscover who he is within a given time.
"Extraordinary Attorney Woo" is about an autistic savant who joins a major law firm and resolves cases in her own way.
