BTS member Jungkook will perform on Nov. 20 at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup soccer finals in Qatar and participate in the tournament's official soundtrack.

The boy band's agency Big Hit Music on Nov. 12 said on its official social media that Jungkook will take part in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack and perform at the ceremony.

BTS members recently took a break from group activities to focus on their individual activities. Jungkook has received global attention for his solo projects including a collaboration with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth on the song "Left and Right," which has remained on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for 17 straight weeks.

The opening ceremony in Qatar is scheduled for Nov. 20 at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, north of Doha. The tournament ends on Dec. 19.
