The K-pop girl group Twice is the first Korean winner of a Billboard Women in Music Award.

The awards honor the best female artists, creators, producers and executives who have had the most impact on the music industry in a given year.

Billboard on Jan. 30 through its website said Twice won the honor for Breakthrough Artist.

This award goes to an act that stood out by taking on a meaningful challenge on the music market that year. Previous winners include Idina Menzel, Tori Kelly, Maren Morris and Camila Cabello.

The awards ceremony for this year's Billboard Women in Music is on March 1 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Twice's English-language single "Moonlight Sunrise" released on Jan. 20 debuted at No. 84 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart on Feb. 4, the group's second entry on the chart. The group's first song in English, "The Feels," reached No. 83 after its release in October 2021.
