The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 17 said it will host this year's Korean Craft Show in Milan, Italy, from April 18-23 jointly with the Korea Craft and Design Foundation at the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation.

Held every year during Milan Design Week, this leading exhibition promotes to the world the excellence and potential of Korean crafts.

Under the theme "Shift Craft," this year's show spotlights distinct regional and cultural characteristics and conveys the unique melodies of Korean crafts through the intersection of perspectives and techniques in the field.

The 20 leading craft artists participating in the exhibition include Yoon Kwangcho, Kang Sukyoung and Hwang Kapsun, with 65 works of ceramics, metal and glass featured.

This year marks the 11th edition of the show and is directed by Koo Byungjun, head of the design company PPS.

"Korean tradition, modernity and ways of thinking will be organized into 10 categories to show the value and sustainability of Korean crafts, not just the restoration of past traditions," he said.

Cho Byoungsoo, a renowned architect mentioned in the book "Modern Architecture: A Critical History," supervised the spatial design of the exhibition space to add vitality to the philosophy and works there to fulfill the director's vision.

The exhibition is divided into 10 categories including "Seeking Life," "Fragment Mesh," "Linking Matters" "Fluid Dimensions" and "Facade Revelation" and designed to allow visitors to naturally follow them.

The Rossana Orlandi exhibition, the most famous at Milan Design Week that introduces craftspeople and designers to the public, was opened on April 16 at Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan.

The exhibition of Rossana Orlandi merchandise through April 23 will feature 27 contemporary and sensual artworks by six emerging craft artists.
