"The Planet," an original soundtrack by BTS released on May 12 of the new animated series "Bastions," has topped Japan's Oricon music chart.
The group's management agency Big Hit Music on May 14 said the track was No. 1 on Oricon's Daily Digital Single Ranking chart.
"The Planet" on May 12 also hit 19th on the Daily Top Song Global chart of Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, with 2.95 million streams and topped as of May 13 iTunes Top Songs charts in 67 countries including the U.S., France and Australia.
"The Planet" is BTS' first new song as a group in 11 months since "Yet to Come," which was released in June last year in the anthology album "Proof."
Premiering on May 14 through the broadcast network SBS, the series is about new heroes who identify the culprits behind environmental destruction and save Earth.
