The Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS), an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Korea International Broadcasting Foundation, which runs Arirang TV, are jointly holding the competition "Play with K-Culture" for expats in the country.

With July 31 as the deadline for entries, the contest will feature videos introducing Korean culture through the eyes of foreign residents.

Any expat interested in video production can enter. A submission can be anything about Korean culture that a competitor wishes to promote in his or her home country like cultural business ideas between the home country and Korea, 100 aspects of Korea or unique tips on living in the nation.

Participants are divided into general creators, or those with a channel of under 10,000 subscribers, and professional creators, or those with a channel of over 10,000. The application is downloadable on the event's website and the required submission is a video three to 10 minutes long.

The competition's official YouTube channel will show 100 selected entries for a month, with the number of views and likes to select the winning videos.

Among the 10 honors worth a combined KRW 27 million, the grand prize is KRW 6 million.

Kim Nana, director of KOCIS' Global Culture Promotion Division, said, "We had focused on introducing Korean culture and cultural content from our perspectives, but planned this project from expats' point of view so that foreign nationals can find, enjoy and consume K-Culture that they truly want and are interested in."

More information is available on the event's official website (http://playwithkculture.kr) in Korean and English. Those interested in entering can also email questions to contest@lbizkorea.co.kr.
