"Beyond the Story: 10-year Record of BTS," an official memoir of the career of K-pop sensation BTS, has hit No. 1 on the New York Times' bestseller list.
Announcing its latest rankings on July 19, the American daily had "Beyond the Story" as the No. 1 bestseller in the hardcover nonfiction and combined print and e-printed nonfiction categories. The Times' list is the most famous for book rankings in English-speaking countries.
The boy band's management agency Big Hit Music said, "The rankings announced this day are based on the sum of weekly and pre-order sales since the book's publication on July 9."
"This book hit No. 1 upon its release," it added. "This is the first book written by a Korean author to occupy the top spot on the list."
On its release day, "Beyond the Story" also topped the Amazon bestseller lists of countries like the U.S., U.K., Brazil, Australia and Japan. It also set the Brazilian record for most pre-orders.
Available in 23 languages including Korean, English and Japanese, the memoir covers BTS' journey from preparation for the group's official debut to its rise as a global superstar.
