The music video for the hit "Lovesick Girls" by the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has surpassed 700 million views on YouTube.

BLACKPINK's management agency YG Entertainment said the video on Aug. 16 at 1:06 a.m. Korean Standard Time broke the 700 million mark. The milestone came two years and 10 months after the song's release on Oct. 2, 2020, as the title track of BLACKPINK's first regular album "The Album."

"Lovesick Girls" has a lyrical melody and country-style guitar sound in addition to the group's powerful vocals. Members Jisoo and Jennie participated in composing the song and writing the lyrics.

Unlike the group's previous songs that gained popularity through composition and direction focused on compelling performances, "Lovesick Girls" gained acclaim for showing a more mature inner side of the members to rave reviews.

"Lovesick Girls" also impressed on global charts, placing 59th on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 after its debut and topping the Global YouTube Song Top 100 for two consecutive weeks. In its week of release, the song's album stayed at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for 10 straight weeks and the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart for seven consecutive weeks.

BLACKPINK now has 13 music videos each with over 700 million views. "Ddu-du Ddu-du" is the leader with 2.1 billion views, followed by "Kill This Love" with 1.8 billion, "Boombayah" 1.6 billion, the performance video for "How You Like That" 1.4 billion and the music video 1.2 billion, "As If It's Your Last" 1.3 billion, Jennie's solo track "Solo" 900 million, "Whistle" 800 million, "Playing with Fire" 800 million, "Ice Cream" 800 million, the performance video of Lisa's solo track "Money" 800 million and "Pink Venom" 700 million.
