BTS member Jungkook's first official solo single "Seven" has topped the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for four weeks in a row.
The American music and entertainment magazine on Aug. 14 said "Seven" logged a fourth week at No. 1 on both charts in a first for a K-pop act.
Billboard said, "The song is just the second of 2023 to debut atop the Global 200 and spend at least its first four weeks at No. 1, after Miley Cyrus' 'Flowers' tallied its first six weeks on the chart at the summit beginning in January."
"Seven" from Aug. 4-10 had 111.7 million streams and 4,000 unit sales and topped the Global 200 on Aug. 19.
On the Global Excl. U.S., the hit had 101.9 million streams on Aug. 19, 112.8 million on Aug. 12, 138.1 million on Aug. 5 and 196 million on July 29.
"Marking another unprecedented feat, 'Seven' is the first song since Global Excl. U.S. began in September 2020 to open with four consecutive weeks of 100 million-plus streams outside the U.S.," Billboard added.
The Global 200 is based on the number of streams and album sales (downloads) in over 200 countries including the U.S. The Global Excl. U.S. has the same criteria but excludes data from the American market.
