A festival in Germany from Aug. 25 will promote tourism in Korea.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) on Aug. 21 said they will host the Your Korea Festival from Aug. 25-27 at Rossmarkt Square in Frankfurt to commemorate the 140th anniversary of bilateral ties and Visit Korea Year 2023-24.

The event will be held in connection with Museumsuferfest, or the Museum Embankment Festival, the German city's largest festival that this year will feature Korea as the guest country of honor to mark the diplomatic milestone.

The German bureau of Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corp., Korean companies in Germany and Korean local governments will also participate in the Your Korea Festival and run booths featuring Korean culture such as pop music, beauty and food centered on a tourism promotion zone.

The zone's purpose is to promote 100 cultural tourism events for Visit Korea Year, 51 leading tour courses and one of Cheong Wa Dae. Tourism packages such as those for visiting Suncheonman Bay National Garden and trekking on Jeju Island will also be promoted.

In consideration of a gap year, or the period between finishing high school and before entering college when students seek new experiences, the booths will also promote tourism products targeting millennials and Generation Z. For example, select travel agencies will offer tourism using international student ID cards while others will specialize in gap year travel.

Eun Yoo-ree, the head of the KTO office in Frankfurt, said, "As interest in Hallyu centered on K-Culture keeps rising, we will strive to focus on highlighting Korea as a tourist destination to Germans for connection with real trips to the country on the occasion of this festival."
